Weekending: Family Edition :-)

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. As usual, I’m linking up with Biana from BLoved Boston. This weekend was definitely a busy one! Chris and I love having visitors and showing them all of the fun places to go here.  This post won’t include any pictures because I didn’t take any, I’m sorry!! Please visit Brittany over at http://www.perpetuallydaydreaming.com and see all of her great pictures! 🙂

Friday after Brittany and Michael arrived we just went out in the neighborhood. Then we called it a night.

Saturday we went to Little Goat Diner for breakfast/brunch. It is always on our list to take visitors because the food is so good there.  If you are ever in Chicago, you should go there. Or if you live here and haven’t been there yet, go there!

After that we walked to the Lincoln Park Zoo and then along the lake front.  After that we walked over to Eatlay. Here is their website: http://www.eataly.com/eataly-chicago/. It is huge, and pretty cool. They have one in NY too. We grabbed some food there and then finally headed home. We relaxed at home for a while and then headed to Big Star in Bucktown. It’s a taco place that has a great outdoor seating area, and amazing tacos. They also have great margaritas and craft beers on tap. Oh and it’s really inexpensive. After that we went to Stan’s Donuts where Brittany and I had some delicious gelato and her husband tried a doughnut with Nutella in it. Chris didn’t get anything instead he helped me pick out a gelato flavor. I went with Belgium Sugar Cookie. Then we headed home and called it a night.

Yesterday/Sunday we had some breakfast at La Fournette Bakery & Cafe. They have another location  in Old Town, but the Clark St one is a few blocks from our place. It’s a cute French bakery and the food is very good. After that Brittany and Michael headed home.

We had not seen Brittany and Michael since their wedding so it was nice to spend time with them. In addition to my own family, I feel truly blessed to be a part of another wonderful family. But it is even more of a blessing to have Brittany as my friend. She is a beautiful person inside and out and I hope that we can have many more fun times together. 🙂

OK that is it for this weekend link up. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by! 🙂

Thanks it was a lot of fun! Little Goat and Big Star are two of my favorites here too. Along with Sunda and Blackbird. The list goes on though haha. I hope that you had a great day and hey if you have any time before you move, maybe we can meet for a coffee. 🙂
